Project Sketchbook 2012

Hey there, blog... Yeah, I know it's been a while. I want you to know that while I love you to death, I have to get this thing off my chest. The reason I haven't been updating you is because I've been hanging out with that hussy of a viral networking blog. I feel bad about the neglect, but to make amends, I will post the entirety of my Project Sketchbook 2012 entry here while simply tossing that OTHER blog a link. There, there, now...

Okay, creepy blog dialogue aside, I'm super excited (if not moderately stressed) about the opening night of Project Sketchbook 2012. It will be this Friday, March 2nd, at the Powerhouse (near South Main and G.E. Patterson) from 12-9pm. The event will be neighboring Live from Memphis' Music Video Showcase which is also this weekend. The night promises to be fun as always, and I'm looking forward to having the participants come down and check out what their brothers and sisters in arts have been up to.

Take care, I'll hopefully see you this weekend, and I'll try to update this thing more often, eh? ;)

Daily Gouache 6/20-7/9

I've been away from the blog for way too long, embarrassingly so. The Daily Gouache project became the background noise to moving, a lot of teaching, and a sudden influx of freelance work (which is always good). That said, this project is certainly not dead, and here's the backlog from the past two weeks.

NOTE: I've excluded the work from 6/25-6/29 and 7/5, as it's being used for assignments that are pending publication. I'll definitely post them later.

Daily Gouache 6/12- 6/19

I've been teaching drawing and comics classes for the past week, and there are still three more weeks of that ahead of me, so the blogging may be taking a bit of a back seat. That said, here's a big catch-up post to show that gouache paintings are still coming along.

The image above was a Father's Day present. Here it is sitting in its rightful place amongst my dad's snapshots and counter ephemera.

Chatterbox Audio Theater

I was asked to provide an illustration for this years's Halloween program on WKNO's Chatterbox Audio Theater, a task that a very talented friend handled last year. I had lot of fun working with the eerie subject matter and there will hopefully be more to come from this. You should definitely check out the program Halloween night on WKNO-FM. If you miss the original broadcast, it will be available on the Chatterbox Audio Theater site.

Whew!

It's been a good minute since I've posted anything, mainly because I've been working on some projects that are either beyond my liberties to post just yet or still in progress. Rest assured, I'm still making stuff. In due time...

Ptera

I've been busy working overtime hours, as well as on a cool project with Live From Memphis, but in the meantime, this is a follow-up to my previous dinosaur-related post.

Selected Sketchbook Spreads (December 2008- present)

These are chronologically ordered from most recent to oldest... or at least as close as I could get.
